Sweet September

A little girl lost and waiting for my wedding day
A small push from an angel and you found me
Me and my pink silk dress thought we’d be o.k.
With my three white roses to keep me company
Landscapes are driving past the car window now
I close my eyes and hold on tight to my roses
Got to get through this trembling feeling somehow
I’m on the edge of excitement as the door closes
Autumn leaves are falling like feathers from the trees
The crowd is gathering with confetti in their hands
Coloured paper circling around us in the breeze
Like petals strewn across the floor as they land
I turn around to see you smiling behind me
And all the noises around me fade away
Coloured images of you are all I can see
All remaining pictures turn to shades of grey
You move forward and softly whisper into my ear
As light bulbs from cameras are flashing away
“We made it here and I love you my dear”
As the cynics have no more reason to stay
All the years from now are ours to explore
For it is the day my heart will remember
Running with the fairies along the corridor

Giving us some magic in our sweet September.
