Venus Boy

Sitting on the floor whilst waiting for the day
When I will know where the angels dance and play
Somewhere between space and time there is a place
Where green-eyed dragons fly and turtles race

Daydreaming is dangerous during the night
Past and present get bruised when they fight
I saw you moving slowly across the floor
Trying to get back to where you were before

Far away with the stars in the planet sky
Close your eyes make a wish and fly
Past Venus and his friends you say hello
With your violet violin and broken bow

Follow the fireflies into the lighthouse
Just wait for the black cat to catch the mouse
And when you get there you will see
How dreams are when they reach reality

Back down to earth with your feet on the ground
As you listen carefully for a familiar sound
Can you remember how it all started
When your fear of loneliness finally parted

Do you know I would do anything to see you
Again in a moment that is constantly true
I need to be held in your arms one more time
To feel your world spin with mine

One more day with you in the sky
So we can watch the moon go by
With the stars all around us so we can see
How to get back to our memories

I look inside myself and see my heart still there
Waiting as it beats in the midnight air
For a time when everything will stay still
Even the dilapidated windmill
So words let go and don’t annoy
