Torn Tree

Not sure which way to feel towards you anymore
Nothing makes sense and is more intense than before
What happened to make my love disappear from inside
Have I hidden from myself and left them to die
Those feelings that felt so strong when you held me
Have somehow let go of you and set themselves free

As they ran away from the hurt of denial
Whilst holding onto someone else’s smile
That makes me shake like a leaf when you’re not there
He stares inside my soul and leaves my senses bare

I’m there feeling naked as I’m falling
Torn from my sleep where his name keeps calling
And as I wake up with you I hit the ground
I lost something with you with him I’ve found
The words he speaks make me feel high
But when you talk your words run dry

Stuck with memories which are slowly slipping
Within my soul his hold keeps on gripping
Leaving me breathless and alone to recover
As he watches me held in the arms of another

I’m caught as he’s watching wishing you weren’t there
As this unexplained feeling lingers in the air
Leaving you hurting as I run away
To breathe for him for one more day
Please just leave me alone and let me be
So I may sit in the woods with my torn tree.
